1960's Curtain Wall Replacement

Lawdensky Construction Co was prequalified by Jacobs Engineering and hired to be the General Contractor to modernize the existing curtain wall at the FAA Aurora Air Route Traffic Control Center. The existing system had air/water infiltration, spandrel panel failures and aesthetic issues.

The key points on this successfully completed project:

  • Keep the Administrative wing operational during construction/minimize impact to all FAA employees and operations.
  • Keep the existing curtain wall framing intact and clad over the existing system, add new insulated glass.
  • Install new sheet metal on the interior to clad over the existing system
  • 3 phases and asbestos abatement
